Current use \

VUE app is the connector between
the smart glasses and other mobile tools.

  • Activate and talk with voice assistants

  • Listen to music or audios

  • Record conversation/meetings for future record

Target users \

Young professionals, aged 22-40, make up over 80% of VUE Glass's current users, so our goal is to craft features that cater to the needs of this user group.

Observations

  • They wear VUE glasses because they're less noticeable than headsets or earphones in business settings.

  • Voice assistants like Alexa and Siri are frequently activated by simple gestures on the glasses' arms;

  • They use glasses to record conversations/meetings when it is inconvenient to take real-time notes.

User problem \

Young professionals need to enhance the efficiency of managing and concluding meetings.

It makes me think...

How might we boost the meeting efficiency of young professionals by leveraging new AI technologies and enhanced hardware interactions?

User interviews \

What do our users need?

We interviewed 16 users about their meeting experiences and sorted their feedback into stages from pre-meeting to post-meeting.

Noticing common complaints and suggestions among different interviewees, I summarized the feedback using a user journey map, making it easier to identify product opportunities across the entire meeting experience cycle.

conclusion from research \

In which directions can we focus to boost users' meeting efficiency?

We organized user insights through card sorting into the following aspects:

Management

Review meeting list, calendar

Convenience & accessibility

Glass-mobile interactions and AI assistance in various scenarios

Proactive Assistance

Guide user throughout the process and get meeting notes and details well-organized

Inclusiveness

Translate, share, AI assistant

user flow \

How can we allocate ideas along the meeting experience cycle?

Work efficiency can be improved at various stages of the business meeting experience. We mapped the user flow into before, during, and after meeting stages, identifying potential ideas to address the frustrations highlighted in the user journey map.

From the user flow map, we can clearly find out the experience cycle is driven by the primary action -- "record".

wireframe \

We mapped out the wireframes into the wireflow to think about end to end user experience.

Debating on Options...

There are a few crucial pages in the overall user flow, but I developed different options to achieve the same goal.

Which one is better? Can we keep both?

Instead of endless internal debates, I decided to let potential users provide the answer, which I incorporated into the Hi-Fi design. There are 16 usability tests conducted to guide our next steps.

⬇️ How do users access the feature?

⬇️ When users are recording conversations...

⬇️ After meetings, how do users document transcripts?

⬇️ How do users review previous meetings?

wait, A few more steps before hi-fi...

#1 Based on user feedback, I removed the redundant items from the user flow, making it truly lean as an MVP, and more friendly for mobile users.

#2 I added gestures for starting/ending recordings, pausing/resuming, and highlighting, while minimizing conflicts with existing gestures.

Hi-fi solutions \

We refined the solutions based on user feedback from wireframe usability tests, and enhanced the UI for consistency and accessibility.

Pre-meeting: quick onboard, meeting prep., express record

During meeting: real-time highlight, translate, and share

Post-meeting: aI speaker recognition, aI meeting summary
